A great opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and growing manufacturing company as a Skilled Quality Inspector.
The advertised rates are PAYE hourly values. Weekly pay. Pay grade determined by level of competence being brought to the position on day one.
Experience in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
Position summary: The role is full time position working within the manufacturing team. The applicant must be a good team player and have excellent time management skills to enable them to manage their own workload within a high demand environment. The successful candidate will also be experienced in using measuring equipment (such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, thread/height gauges,) to inspect physical manufactured parts and components.
Understanding shadowgraphs would also be beneficial to your application, and/or interpreting engineering drawings or CMM reports.
Flexibility is essential to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities:
Key Skills: • Prepping units for inspection • End of line inspection of product using metrology tools • Good mobility due to physical demands of the job • Be able to use computer system, word excel and Carrier websites • Must be an organised and able to work under pressure • Must be able to manage changing priorities • Be a team player but also able to work on own initiative • Good attention to detail, understand the need to check and over check work • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers and transport carriers • Must be flexible and dependable and prepared to work shifts as required • Operators will be expected to work overtime at short notice to meet customer demand • Operators may be expected to move between departments within same shift. • Operators will be expected to work shifts when required (am/pm). • Any other duties as required
Requirements:
• Education – No formal qualification required but would expect an excellent level of English & Maths.
• Industry Experience – Previous experience of a component manufacturing process would be required.
Full time. Hours – Initially: Monday to Thursday: 7:45 am – 4:30 pm, Friday: 7:30am – 13:00 pm however the role will most likely move onto a split rotating shift of earlies and lates, so having access to transport which can get you to the site for a 6am start is critical. Enhanced rates are paid when on shifts. Overtime also paid at higher rates.
