CNC Machine Operator / Machinist – Precision Engineering

Got People are recruiting for a CNC Machine Operator / Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Hertfordshire.
The company produces high-quality precision machined components for a wide range of industries including Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Scientific, Food and Motorsport.
Due to continued growth and an increasing order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Operator or Engineering Machine Operator to join their busy machine shop and production team.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC machines including lathes, milling machines and grinding equipment within a precision engineering machine shop.
Carry out deburring, finishing and basic assembly of machined components using hand tools and specialised finishing equipment.
Perform quality inspection using measuring equipment such as micrometres, vernier callipers and gauges to ensure components meet engineering specifications.
Work from basic engineering drawings and production instructions.
Support general machine shop and production activities including CNC machining, component finishing and inspection.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the manufacturing and engineering workshop.
Assist the production team with other manufacturing or engineering duties where required.
Experience and Skills Required
Previous experience within a precision engineering, CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
Experience operating CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines or other machine shop equipment.
Ability to use measuring equipment including micrometres, vernier callipers, gauges and inspection tools.
Experience using hand tools such as files and deburring tools for component finishing.
Basic understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a production or engineering team.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality standards and meet production deadlines.
Flexible and willing to support additional tasks within the machine shop when required.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm
Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm
Remuneration
Competitive hourly rate depending on experience.
