Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Manual Machinist on behalf of one of our clients.
To undertake machining works as directed by the Department Supervisor and Workshop Manager. Control and operation of the machine shop equipment such as CNC, milling machines, pillar drill and lathes.

Duties and Responsibilities: Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job. Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping. Read and interpret CAD drawings in order to select correct machinery. Ability to work from samples. Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job. Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc. Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
