CNC Machinist

We are working with a Wiltshire-based client who are looking for experienced CNC Machinists with 5-axis experience to join their manufacturing team on a contract basis.

This role sits at the heart of their production capability, translating complex engineering designs into high-precision physical components to exacting tolerances and quality standards.

Key areas of focus include:

* Setting up machines with the correct tools and fixtures and fine-tuning G codes, speeds and feeds to ensure programs run correctly

* Feeding back recommended changes to cutter paths, cutting tools, speeds and feeds to the CNC Programmer based on material properties and machining requirements
* Operating multiple machines in parallel where cycle times permit
* Checking first parts with inspection before full batch runs, with close attention to tool wear
* Identifying and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times and maintain high yield and quality output
* Maintaining detailed setup sheets and process parameters for continuous improvement

What they're looking for:

* 5-axis CNC machining experience is essential - Rotary Table 5-axis and Gantry 5-axis
* Experience on 3-axis machines and the ability to cover Turning is an advantage xbpsjku
* Strong understanding of machining processes, materials and tooling
* Familiarity with XYZ, DMG Mori DMU, Hardinge Bridgeport and/or CMS Routers
* High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team

* Contract role
* £28 per hour (Inside IR35)
