As CNC Manufacturing Support Engineer, join a growing, globally backed manufacturer in the defence sector, supplying equipment to the British military. This is a great opportunity to support and improve CNC machining operations within a well-established engineering business.
Role Overview
Provide technical and project support across CNC machining, focusing on process improvement, tooling, documentation, and operator training. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and external partners to ensure high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and improve CNC machining processes
* Design fixtures, tooling, and work-holding solutions
* Optimise cutting tools and machining methods
* Create and maintain SOPs and manufacturing documentation
* Deliver operator training
* Manage engineering projects and machine installations
* Coordinate with suppliers and contractors
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
* Strong CNC machining knowledge (milling essential)
* Experience with tooling, process improvement, and documentation
* AutoCAD proficiency
* Project management experience (Microsoft Project preferred)
* ERP experience (e.g. SAP)
Desirable: PRINCE2, CAD (SolidWorks/Inventor), precision industries experience, Lean/CI knowledge, ex-operator background.
