A fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter-Operator to join a fast paced, growing, forward-thinking business. Working within a modern facility, you will program, set, and operate advanced 3 Axis CNC milling machinery, producing high-quality components across a range of sectors. This role offers excellent long-term stability, technical variety, and progression opportunities into 5 Axis CNC milling.

What we need from you:

  • Strong experience in 3 axis CNC milling (programming, setting & operating)
  • Time-served apprenticeship in CNC machining or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Used to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using Hurco WinMax and Fanuc Controls
  • Proven CAM software experience (preferably Solid CAM)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of machine processes, materials, tolerances and the use of Inspection equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude


Desirable:

  • Exposure to 5 axis machining or willingness to learn
  • Experience in machining parts for tooling, jigs, and fixtures
  • Able to work with and train apprentices
  • Exposure to manufacture for the Automotive, Building and construction Industries


This role will involve you reporting to the CNC Manager. Duties to include:

  • Program, set, and operate 3 axis CNC milling machines
  • Manufacture high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Work on bespoke and small-batch components across a range of materials
  • Use CAM software to support efficient and accurate machining (preferably Solid CAM)
  • Assist with tooling, fixtures, and jig manufacturing where required
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure parts meet required standards
  • Collaborate with the CNC Machining Manager and wider team
  • Support continuous improvement within the machining department
  • Opportunity to train and develop into 5-axis machining
  • Support 5s activities


Salary:£17 to £18.50 per hour depending on experience + overtime.

Hours: Working 39 hours per week on days, Monday to Thursday 7.30am 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am 2pm.
