Role: CNC Programmer
Location: Croydon
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience
We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join a well-established engineering/manufacturing business. This is a great opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working on precision components and improving manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities include
Create, modify, and optimise CNC programs for milling and/or turning operations
Set up and prove out programs on CNC machines
Work closely with setters/operators and production teams to ensure efficient manufacture
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to improve cycle times and quality
Carry out program troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of CNC machining (milling and/or turning)
Experience with controls such as FANUC / Siemens (or similar)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and materials
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with CAD/CAM software
Background in high-precision engineering (aerospace, automotive, defence, etc.)
Experience with multi-axis machining
