Role: CNC Service Technician

Location: Birmingham / Field Based

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 depending on experience + overtime

My client is looking for a CNC Service Technician to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong knowledge of Mazak CNC machinery to work with a respected company supporting customers across a wide range of manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of CNC machine tools
  • Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Preventative maintenance and breakdown response at customer sites
  • Diagnostics and support on Mazak CNC controls and machinery
  • Machine geometry checks, alignments, and performance optimisation
  • Providing technical support and training to customers where required
  • Completing accurate service reports and documentation
  • Maintaining excellent customer relationships and representing the business professionally

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Service Engineer or CNC Maintenance Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with Mazak CNC machines
  • Knowledge of Mazatrol / Mazak control systems
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and mechanical schematics
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage field service schedules
  • Experience with multi-axis machining centres or turning centres
  • PLC fault finding knowledge
  • Customer-facing service experience
