CNC Setter Operator - Lichfield | £40,000 £45,000

A specialist precision engineering manufacturer is expanding its Midlands operation and is looking to hire an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join their growing team.

This CNC Setter Operator role sits within a high-spec tool grinding environment, working on 5 axis CNC machines producing precision carbide cutting tools for industries such as aerospace, medical, and motor sport.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Setter Operator looking to develop their skills in a more specialist area, with clear progression and strong earning potential through shift premiums.

What you'll be doing as a CNC Setter Operator

  • Working as a CNC Setter Operator setting and operating 5 axis CNC machines
  • Producing precision carbide tools to tight tolerances
  • Working with advanced grinding machinery including Walter and Rollomatic
  • Carrying out inspection using appropriate measuring equipment
  • Monitoring machine performance and resolving issues
  • Supporting operators with technical queries and setup guidance

Essential skills needed from the CNC Setter Operator:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter Operator in a precision engineering environment
  • Experience setting and operating CNC machines independently
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working to tight tolerances
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Desirable skills needed from the CNC Setter Operator:

  • Experience within a CNC tool grinding environment
  • Exposure to machines such as Walter, Rollomatic or similar
  • Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification.
