CNC Setter/Operator – Alternating Shifts (£13.50 p/h up to £16.15 p/h)

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join a friendly and well‑established machine shop working alternating weekly shifts, Monday to Friday. This role offers a strong rate of £16.15 per hour once fully signed off and provides an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys stability, a supportive working environment, and the chance to grow within a business that genuinely values its people. Responsibilities

  • Set and operate 3‑axis and 5‑axis CNC machines, ensuring all components meet specifications through accurate in‑process inspection.
  • Manage tooling changes, fixtures, and offset adjustments to keep production running smoothly.
  • Support the wider workshop by working with additional equipment such as bandsaws and manual machines, with full training offered where required.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy, and professional working environment, and work closely with senior machinists and offline programmers to resolve machining challenges.

Requirements

  • Approximately five years of CNC machining experience, confident setting and operating multi‑axis CNC machines.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, measurement tools, and experience machining metals, plastics, composites, or wood.
  • Formal qualifications such as City & Guilds or apprenticeship are helpful but not essential.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, motivated approach and ability to support a productive and high‑quality workflow.
