CNC Turner – Sliding Head Setter/Operator
West Bromwich Day Shift with Early Finish Fridays £17.00 per hour
Actio Engineering Recruitment is working with a well‑established engineering company in West Bromwich to recruit an experienced CNC Turner – Sliding Head
Setter/Operator for a permanent day‑shift position.
Role Overview
This position is ideal for someone confident in setting and operating sliding‑head CNC lathes (Star) within a busy, quality‑focused machine shop. You’ll be producing precision components for a range of industries and contributing to a stable, long‑standing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting and operating Star CNC sliding‑head lathes (other sliding head experience considered)
* Adjusting tooling, offsets, feeds and speeds to maintain accuracy
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Performing in‑process inspection using standard measuring equipment
* Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient work area
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience with sliding‑head CNC turning
* Ability to set, operate and make minor programme adjustments
* Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards
* Able to work independently and support team production targets
Pay and Hours
* £17.00 per hour
* Day shift
* Early finish every Friday
Location
West Bromwich, with good access from surrounding areas.
