Commercial Assistant - Chichester

Our client, a well-established and growing construction business based in the Chichester area, is looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to support their commercial and project teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in commercial management, with exposure across the full project lifecycle-from tender stage through to final account.

Working closely with directors and project teams, you will play a key role in supporting tendering, estimating, procurement, and cost control across multiple projects.

Remuneration

• Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)
• Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
• 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of tender submissions
• Support measurement and take-offs from drawings
• Assist with cost estimates and build-ups
• Compile and organise tender documentation
• Assist with scopes of work and tender packages
• Support preparation of specifications and project information
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors during tender stage
• Support preparation and review of project budgets and cost plans
• Assist with cost tracking and cost value reporting
• Support preparation of interim valuations
• Maintain variation registers and track project changes
• Assist with pricing variations and change events
• Assist with preparation and issue of enquiries
• Obtain and organise supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Assist with quotation comparisons and cost analysis
• Support procurement of subcontract packages and materials
• Maintain procurement schedules
• Maintain commercial and project documentation
• Assist with preparation of reports and project information
• Support project teams with commercial queries
• Maintain subcontractor records and documentation

Person Specification

• Experience within construction or a commercial environment

• Understanding of estimating, procurement, and cost control
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Confident working with drawings and cost information
• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Proactive with a willingness to take ownership
