Job Description
Job Title: Civil Litigation Solicitor
Location: London Bridge
Salary: £50,000 - 80,000+ D.O.E
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time, Hybrid

A boutique law firm with offices in London Bridge. The team has extensive experience handling a variety of complex civil litigation cases, representing both individuals and organisations. The firm provides clear legal guidance, negotiates settlements, and progresses matters through the courts when required.
About the Role
They are seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Solicitor to join their growing team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of medium to high-value disputes, typically for claimants, in diverse areas of civil litigation practice, including professional negligence, property ownership disputes, fiduciary disputes, and contractual disputes.
The role suits a solicitor who works independently but also enjoys collaborating with colleagues, and offers the chance to support partners on larger cases while handling an appropriate caseload under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting court documents, pleadings, witness statements, letters before action, and settlement agreements Managing cases from instruction to conclusion, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and civil litigation procedural requirements Advising clients and building strong professional relationships Negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions on behalf of clients Attending hearings, case management conferences, and trials, representing clients or instructing counsel as required Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and case progress using the firm’s case management system Liaising with clients, courts, experts, and other solicitors in a professional and timely manner Ensuring all activities comply with the SRA Code of Conduct and other regulatory requirements Supporting partners on larger cases and appropriately delegating tasks to trainees or paralegals Participating in business development and marketing initiatives in line with the agreed business plan
Person Specification
Experience in civil litigation, including contentious work, and familiarity with CPR and court procedures Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain confidentiality Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills Ability to handle new work and actively engage in the onboarding process Business development and networking skills Experience using case management systems, Microsoft Office, and e-disclosure platforms Understanding of SRA rules, code of conduct, and compliance obligations Experience under Lexcel or equivalent quality standards desirable Good academic qualifications and demonstrable legal knowledge Experience dealing with costs, independent billing, and cost assessments is desirable
Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate (England & Wales) 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in civil litigation Experience handling professional negligence, contract disputes, property ownership disputes, or fiduciary disputes
