About the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Contract Manager to join our client playing a key role in managing the commercial aspects of a Local Authority’s major waste management contracts across the Liverpool City Region.\n\nThis role is critical to ensuring that contracted commercial arrangements deliver on agreed terms, provide excellent value for money, and are managed effectively on behalf of and the District Councils across the region.\n\nThe successful candidate will also support the Authority’s Contracts section in the delivery of major projects and the implementation of significant changes to contract terms and arrangements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Lead on all commercial matters relating to the management of the Authority’s primary waste management contracts, identifying and managing key commercial risks to ensure optimal outcomes for the Authority, and District Councils.\n\n * Work collaboratively with teams across the Authority and with District Council partners to ensure a holistic approach to commercial optimisation of contract services.\n\n * Develop and implement effective controls, treatments and management strategies to address commercial risks in both the short and long term.\n\n * Coordinate the interpretation and application of the contract Payment Mechanism and other commercial provisions, working with internal colleagues to ensure accurate, transparent and auditable outcomes.\n\n * Support the delivery of major projects and changes to contractual arrangements.\n\n * Provide commercial insight and expertise to ensure contracts continue to deliver strong value for money and high-quality services for the region.\n\nAbout You\n\nThe ideal candidate will have:\n\n * Significant experience in commercial contract management, preferably within large-scale service or public sector contracts.\n\n * Strong knowledge of risk management, contract interpretation and payment mechanisms.\n\n * Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across organisations.\n\n * Experience delivering commercial optimisation and value-for-money outcomes.\n\n * Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nThis is an opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring essential services are delivered efficiently and effectively across the Liverpool City Region.
