Responsibilities will include:

- Maintain and develop practical precedents, clause banks, playbooks and guidance notes for Commercial, Technology & Outsourcing and Data & Cyber.
- Capture and share legal know-how and market insights, helping to develop clear "house views" on key issues.
- Support matter debriefs and respond to know-how queries from fee earners.
AI, innovation and legal technology
- Translate the firm's AI strategy into practical knowledge assets (e.g. workflows, prompt libraries, advisory notes, regulatory trackers).
- Identify and help implement opportunities to productise AI and use AI and legal tech tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Be part of a team providing legal input into the design and testing of AI-enabled and other tech-enabled products for internal and client use.
- Act as a subject-matter contact on AI governance and regulatory developments affecting AI deployment.
Training and development
- Design and deliver internal training for the Commercial and Data & Cyber teams, including trainees.
- Contribute to Early Talent initiatives and help onboard new joiners from a know-how perspective.
- Support cross-practice training where AI, data and technology issues overlap with other teams.
Thought leadership and client engagement
- Lead horizon scanning on key developments in commercial, technology, data protection, AI and cybersecurity law, working closely with partners and other team members.
- Produce or contribute to client alerts, articles, newsletters and short-form content (including LinkedIn posts).
- Help support and deliver client training sessions, demos and pilots of AI and legal-tech solutions.
- Contribute to pitches and panel responses from a knowledge and innovation perspective.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent) with c. 4+ plus PQE - we are open to strong candidates at different levels.
- Strong commercial contracts & technology experience (e.g. IT/outsourcing, SaaS, services, supply, distribution, licensing or similar). Experience in data protection and/or non-contentious cyber work will be a plus but not essential.
- Genuine interest in AI and its legal/regulatory implications, with the ability to get up to speed quickly on developments.
- Previous experience of working with AI tools or other legal technology (e.g. contract review tools, transaction management platforms) will be helpful.
- A collaborative leader within a team who coaches and develops junior team members to achieve their full potential.
