Job Description
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer to work across a range of commercial sites, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on commercial gas systems. Most sites would be between Birmingham and Manchester.\n\nThe successful candidate will hold the relevant commercial gas qualifications, demonstrate strong fault-finding ability, and have a thorough understanding of UK compliance and safety standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial gas appliances including boilers, heaters, and burners.\n\n * Diagnose faults and implement effective repair solutions.\n\n * Ensure all works are completed in line with current legislation and safety regulations.\n\n * Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.\n\n * Liaise with the client and provide technical advice and updates.\n\n * Participate in the on-call rota and attend emergency breakdowns when required.\n\nRequired Qualifications & Certifications (UK)\n\nCommercial Gas (Essential):\n\n * ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications including:\n\n * COCN1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety\n\n * CDGA1 – Direct Fired Heating Appliances\n\n * CIGA1 – Indirect Fired Heating Appliances\n\n * TPCP1A – Testing and Purging\n\n * Current and valid Gas Safe Registration\n\nGeneral:\n\n * Full UK Driving Licence – Essential\n\n * CSCS Card – Desirable\n\nSkills & Experience\n\n * Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in commercial gas engineering.\n\n * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.\n\n * Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.\n\n * Excellent communication and customer service skills.\n\n * Good working knowledge of UK compliance and safety regulations.\n\nPackage & Benefits\n\n * £45,000p.a.\n\n * £155 per week standby rate.\n\n * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.\n\n * Company van with private use option.\n\n * Fuel card.\n\n * Travel time paid door-to-door.\n\n * Overtime paid at time and a half.\n\n * Uniform and PPE provided.\n\n * Pension scheme.\n\n * Specialist tools provided (engineer to supply hand tools).\n\n * Death in Service benefit after 2 years’ employment.\n\nIf you are a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer looking to join a professional and supportive client with excellent benefits and long-term opportunities, we would love to hear from you.\n\nAbout Marble Talent\n\nAs engineering recruitment specialists, we pride ourselves on the ability to turn aspiring candidates at the beginning, middle or towards the end of their engineering careers into successful, professional engineers place at the right companies.
