Hill McGlynn is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding organisation operating across London, Kent and the South East. Due to continued growth and new contract awards, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Commercial Gas Engineer looking to secure a long-term permanent role within a company that is part of a successful and expanding group of businesses.
The Company:
Our client is a reputable Integrated Property and M&E Contractor with over 65 years experience in keeping buildings performing safely and efficiently across the UK.
With a steady stream of repeat business and new enquiries, they offer long-term stability and genuine progression opportunities.
The Role:
As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial gas systems across a variety of sites throughout London and the South East. The role involves both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown work.
You will join an established team of engineers and take part in a 1 week in 4 on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Service and maintenance of commercial gas appliances
  • Fault finding and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring compliance with current gas safety regulations
  • Completing job sheets and relevant documentation accurately
  • Participating in a 1 in 4 on-call rota

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Valid Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1 / CODNCO1 or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in commercial servicing and breakdowns
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Based in London, Kent or surrounding South East areas
  • Own van preferred (company van and fuel card provided if required)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Professional and customer-focused approach
What's on Offer:
  • Salary up to £52,000 depending on experience
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Time and a half paid for call-outs
  • On-call 1 week in 4
  • Call-outs rarely later than 10pm
  • £30 bonus for each successful fix on call-out
  • Company van available if required
  • Fuel card provided
