Job Description
In-House Lawyer -International business
Our client is a leading international law firm operating across offices around the world and with over 1500 staff and 200+ partners. It has a reputation for high quality advice and is highly regarded in the market. It has enjoyed sustained growth in recent years which has been reflected in its profitability.
The firm has a robust legal and regulatory risk team that supports the London HQ and the international offices and a vacancy for a lawyer has arisen in this team. We are seeking an individual who is keen to take on a wide range of legal and risk issues and work closely with team members and colleagues in the business on both day-to-day issues and larger projects.
The role will require the successful individual to help manage the firm’s risk and compliance procedures, negotiate and draft T&Cs for third party suppliers, liaise on data protection issues and DSARs, advise on professional conduct and support on conflicts and financial crime matters. It is a varied, interesting and challenging opportunity that will present the role holder with a spectrum of in-house legal issues to deal with.
We are seeking a qualified lawyer with at least 2 years’ experience, who has trained and/or worked in a leading law firm. You may have spent time within a law firm risk and compliance team already, or you may be in a corporate, commercial or regulatory department and would like to move away from fee-earning. This in-house role presents an excellent opportunity to continue to undertake high quality legal work and remain within a law firm setting but step away from chargeable time and client development.
You must be a confident individual with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interface with colleagues at all levels of seniority. You must have excellent basic legal skills including research, negotiating, and drafting and be ready to apply them to new areas. Somebody who is keen to learn and has a can-do attitude is key to fulfilling this role.
The firm has a 60% office attendance policy so you will be required to work in the London office 3 days a week.
If you are keen on this vacancy or would like to know more please apply in confidence and we will follow up.
