Commercial Lead - Bridgwater, UK

About the Role

Commercial Lead

Full-Time, Contractual location of Bridgwater, 3-4 days a week in office, work from home available.

Are you ready to lead commercial strategy on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? At Hinkley Point C, we’re looking for someone who thrives on complexity, excels at stakeholder engagement, and is passionate about delivering real value. If you’re driven by challenge, inspired by innovation, and ready to shape the future of low-carbon energy, this could be your next big move.

The Opportunity

At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new series of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. As a Commercial Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of commercial delivery within the HPC Commercial Group.

Reporting to both the Project Delivery Manager and the Commercial Director, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of contracts, making key decisions that directly influence the success of the project. This is a high-impact role where your leadership and commercial insight will help shape outcomes that matter—not just to HPC, but to the UK’s energy future.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

In addition to a competitive salary of £90,000, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a company pension scheme and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. These include enhanced parental leave, electric vehicle leasing, health insurance, product discounts, critical illness insurance, technology vouchers, gym membership, and season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility and recognize that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort.

Our priority is to ensure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming for a workforce that reflects a broad mix of backgrounds, including minority backgrounds, and supporting social mobility. We are a confident employer and will assist you throughout your application process.

Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds and experiences drive innovation. We believe success is personal and support you in pursuing a career that’s meaningful to you.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the commercial strategy and execution for a portfolio of high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and driving performance. From procurement to delivery, you’ll be the key commercial voice—navigating risk, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring value at every stage. You’ll also build and lead a high-performing team, fostering continuous improvement and embedding lessons learned into future projects.

You’ll play a pivotal role in stakeholder engagement, working with senior leaders, partners, and regulators to ensure commercial decisions are robust, transparent, and aligned with the project vision. This is your chance to make a tangible impact on a nationally significant project, helping power millions of homes with clean, reliable energy.

Who You Are

You have a strong foundation in commercial management, ideally supported by membership in a professional body such as RICS, CICES, or IOB, and a degree-level qualification. Experience in major infrastructure or power construction projects, especially those governed by NEC or FIDIC contracts, is essential. You are confident navigating complex regulatory environments, particularly within the nuclear sector, and understand UK law and site license compliance. Your commercial instincts are sharp, and you’re comfortable making decisions with significant financial implications.

You have led commercial teams before, inspiring performance, managing risk, and driving value. Your approach is collaborative, clear, and confident, whether in procurement, contract execution, or stakeholder engagement. Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires UK residency for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Closing date for applications is Sunday, 3rd August. Interviews will follow shortly after.
