Commercial Litigation Solicitor Location: Belfast Working Pattern: Full-time | Hybrid & Flexible Working Available A Career-Accelerating Role for an Ambitious Litigator This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an ambitious litigator looking to take a decisive step forward in their career. As part of a dynamic Dispute Resolution & Commercial Litigation team, you'll work on a broad and stimulating mix of matters including shareholder disputes, construction litigation, property disputes, and complex commercial contract cases. The firm is experiencing continued growth, and this role offers real scope to take on increasing responsibility and progress into a more senior position over the coming years. The role would suit an experienced commercial litigator, or a defence solicitor with strong High Court experience who is keen to transition into commercial litigation. Either way, you'll gain exceptional exposure and the opportunity to make a visible impact within a forward-thinking team. Role & Responsibilities Manage and lead a varied caseload of commercial disputes, including shareholder and director issues, construction and infrastructure disputes, and property and contractual litigation. Work closely with high-profile clients, developing effective dispute resolution strategies and collaborating with counsel where required. Take ownership of files from initial instruction through to resolution, including drafting pleadings, managing hearings (including High Court matters), and negotiating settlements. Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Play an active role in business development and the continued growth of the firm's commercial litigation offering. Required Skills & Experience Qualified Solicitor with experience in commercial litigation or defence litigation, with exposure to High Court work. Experience handling or assisting on complex disputes, such as shareholder, property, or construction-related matters. Strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and client relationship skills. A proactive and self-sufficient approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering practical, solutions-focused advice.
