Commercial Manager – FMCG | Key Account

Location: Uxbridge (Office-Based Role)

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong background in FMCG and grocery retail, a passion for food, and a proven ability to drive profitable growth across large customer accounts? We are recruiting a Commercial Manager to lead key customer relationships and deliver commercial performance within a defined portfolio.

This role is offering real ownership of P&L, customer strategy, forecasting, and growth delivery within a forward-thinking FMCG business.

Key Responsibilities – Commercial Manager (FMCG)

  • Lead the commercial performance and growth of a defined customer base, ensuring delivery against sales, margin, and profit targets
  • Own P&L responsibility for assigned key accounts, driving profitable growth aligned to business objectives
  • Develop, agree, and deliver Customer Joint Business Plans (JBPs)
  • Manage forecast accuracy, budget delivery, and performance tracking with a strong growth mindset
  • Evaluate promotional performance and provide data-led recommendations to maximise promotional effectiveness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Senior Commercial Management, Commercial Finance, Customer Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop and execute in-store and online activation plans
  • Identify market, customer, and category growth opportunities through insight, analysis, and customer engagement
  • Champion the customer internally, ensuring service levels, supply issues, and performance risks are proactively managed
  • Integrate customer sales strategy into wider group business plans, forecasts, and budgets
  • Play an active role in weekly and monthly planning meetings to ensure customer priorities are represented
  • Track category performance against plan, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Support talent development through coaching and mentoring less experienced commercial team members

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a Commercial, Sales, or Account Management role within FMCG or grocery retail
  • Proven experience managing large customer accounts or key accounts
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Experience working with P&L, forecasting, budgets, and promotional analysis
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident in leading the customer agenda across a matrix organisation
  • Strong focus on personal development and continuous improvement
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience using internal systems and customer portals (training provided)
  • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to customer and site locations
