Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles and machinery using schematics and electrical experience
* Perform repairs and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including excavators and forklifts
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify components
* Read and interpret technical schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
* Carry out assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of vehicle parts with precision
* Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
* Assist with equipment calibration, testing, and preventive maintenance programmes
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
* Perform heavy lifting safely when handling parts or equipment during repairs
Qualifications
* Proven experience in vehicle or equipment repair, ideally within a mechanical or electrical capacity
* Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, soldering, schematics interpretation, and electrical systems
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
* Mechanical knowledge of various machinery such as excavators and forklifts is highly desirable
* Experience in equipment repair and maintenance across different vehicle types
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are advantageous

The candidate to have. Experience within the workshop. Own their own hand tools, HGV driving licence, Fork lift truck licence, Experience with diagnostics, mechanical and electrical work, Be confident in stripping, parts listing & ordering.
Responsibilities include HGV inspections, Brake roller tests, Preparing vehicles for Mot tests, Repairs and servicing, Diagnosing and resolving faults.
Must be able to work independently and work with a team. Ability to lift heavy objects and carry out physical jobs, must be reliable and motivated, maintain a clean and organized work area, strive for quality with attention to detail.
Full-time salary based on a 40-hour week with £40.00 bonus if 40 hours attended.
Hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 – 17:30 with overtime available.
20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
All to start after probationary period complete.
