Commissioning Manager - Client Side

£600 - £700 per day


The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our client-side project delivery team in London. This is a key role overseeing the full commissioning lifecycle on complex, high-value building projects, working on behalf of the asset owner to ensure systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and perform exactly as intended.

You will act as the client’s technical authority for commissioning, providing leadership, governance, and assurance across all MEP systems from design through to handover and soft landings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commissioning strategy across the project lifecycle
  • Review design documentation to ensure commissionability and operational performance
  • Oversee and challenge main contractors, MEP contractors, and commissioning specialists
  • Own the commissioning programme, method statements, and test scripts
  • Chair commissioning meetings and manage progress, risk, and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and client requirements
  • Manage integrated testing, witnessing, snagging, and system sign-off
  • Oversee O&M manuals, training, and handover to facilities/operations teams
  • Support soft landings and post-handover performance validation

About You

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on large, complex projects
  • Strong client-side, consultant, or principal contractor background
  • Excellent understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, controls, life safety)
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders and holding contractors to account
  • Strong planning, reporting, and technical assurance skills
  • Experience on data centres, commercial developments, healthcare, or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable
