Commissioning Manager (Contract) – Food Processing Plant | Derby | Outside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of a shell & core project for a food processing facility in Derby. This is a contract role running until the end of June, offering Outside IR35 status. Part time workers will be considered

The Role:

You will take the lead on commissioning activities across a fast-paced industrial project, ensuring systems are delivered, tested, and handed over to the highest standards. Working closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving programme milestones and ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all commissioning activities across mechanical and associated systems
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, design teams, and client representatives
  • Ensure all systems are tested, validated, and meet operational requirements
  • Drive health & safety compliance throughout commissioning phases
  • Support project handover and documentation processes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on industrial or manufacturing projects
  • Strong mechanical bias (essential)
  • Experience within food processing, FMCG, or similar regulated environments is highly desirable
  • Excellent stakeholder coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a live project environment

  • Duration: Immediate start – end of June
  • Status: Outside IR35
  • Competitive day rate (DOE)
