A leading engineering and technology-focused organisation is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee the delivery of complex systems across major projects in Central London.

This is a senior, site-focused role responsible for commissioning life safety, fire detection, sprinkler, security, and data infrastructure systems within large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, and data centre environments.


The Role

You will lead commissioning activities from planning through to handover, ensuring all systems are fully integrated, tested, and delivered in line with industry standards and project deadlines. Acting as the technical authority, you will manage multidisciplinary teams, challenge designs where required, and drive successful project completion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, programmes, and resources across multiple projects
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure readiness and delivery
  • Lead on-site commissioning activities, overseeing engineers and monitoring progress
  • Manage system integration across fire, security, sprinkler, and ELV systems
  • Ensure all testing, defects, and compliance requirements are completed prior to handover
  • Maintain QA documentation and oversee FAT/SAT and final system handover
  • Lead commissioning meetings, resolve issues, and escalate risks where needed
  • Mentor teams and support client training and project close-out


Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior commissioning role on large-scale or data centre projects
  • Strong knowledge of ELV, life safety, fire, and security system integration
  • Proven ability to manage teams and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with commissioning processes, QA standards, and compliance (BAFE, BS, EN)
  • CSCS and SMSTS certified
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Technically proficient with commissioning tools and system diagnostics
