Committee member - Planning RepresentativeHelp review planning applications for WDPS, attend monthly Parish Council planning meetings, & join our friendly committee protecting Wheathampstead’s heritageOrganisation: Wheathampstead & District Preservation Society (WDPS)OverviewThe Wheathampstead & District Preservation Society is seeking a new committee member to help monitor and review local planning applications that may affect the character and heritage of Wheathampstead and the surrounding area.This is an interesting and rewarding role for someone who cares about the future of the village and enjoys working as part of a friendly and proactive committee.Key ResponsibilitiesAttend the Wheathampstead Parish Council planning meeting once a month during the day as the WDPS representative.Review planning applications discussed at the meeting.Identify applications that may be of interest or concern to WDPS.Report back to the WDPS committee and present relevant applications for discussion.Help the committee agree an appropriate response where necessary.Attend monthly WDPS committee meetings on Monday evenings at 7.30pm.Contribute to discussions about planning, development and preservation matters affecting the village.Skills or ExperienceYou do not need to be a planning expert, but the following would be helpful:Interest in local heritage, conservation and planning mattersAbility to review documents and summarise key pointsWillingness to speak on behalf of WDPS at Parish Council meetingsGood communication and teamwork skillsReliability and availability for the monthly meetingsTime CommitmentOne Parish Council planning meeting per month during the dayOne WDPS committee meeting per month (Monday evening, 7.30pm)Occasional time to review planning applications before committee discussionWhat You’ll GainThe opportunity to help shape the future of WheathampsteadInvolvement in protecting the village’s heritage and characterWorking with a friendly and engaged committeeA chance to make a real difference locallyMore information about WDPS can be found at Wheathampstead Preservation website.Related toCommunity & familyGetting thereAbout Wheathampstead & District Preservation SocietyVolunteers working together to help Keep Wheathampstead Wonderful #J-18808-Ljbffr
