Commodity Analyst – focus on graphite and anode materials (London office based 4 days)


Description:


You will join Benchmark’s global Forecasting & Consultancy division, with the responsibility for undertaking graphite and anode research. A significant part of the role will be establishing networks with the global Graphite and anode industry, undertaking primary and desk-based research to understand supply and demand across supply chains.


As part of Benchmark’s analyst team, you will be responsible for producing Benchmark’s quarterly reports. In addition, you will support our consultancy assignments, working on bespoke advisory projects for a cross section of industry stakeholders, including leading mining companies, OEMs, financial and government organisations.


It is key that you are a motivated individual with an eagerness to understand the global energy storage and electric vehicle supply chain and are driven to learn more and extend the company knowledge and product base.


As part of your role, you will be given the opportunity to travel the world, become a recognised global authority on the topics you cover, interact with senior management from leading companies in the supply chain, and regularly speak to and be quoted by various media organisations. Benchmark is a fast-growing organisation so there will also be opportunities for progression and job development.


In your role you will directly report to Product Director – Graphite and Anode.


Key responsibilities:


  • Contribute towards consulting projects in the graphite and anode space
  • Building networks with the Graphite and anode sectors.
  • Promoting Benchmark as a provider of Graphite and anode intelligence.
  • Leading and managing assigned forecast datasets.
  • Overseeing the work of junior team members as required.
  • Preparing analytical presentations and written pieces for publication to clients.
  • Engaging with the Benchmark team to share insight and conduct data analysis.
  • Speak to media and at industry events and forums.


Requirements:


  • Experience of commodity analyst essential.
  • Analytical mindset, drive for deeper understanding and growth of personal and company knowledge base of industry
  • Naturally organised and self-motivated individual; able to work remotely when needed.
  • Ability to work 4 days a week in our London office (near Monument)
  • Good communication skills: able to interact with the internal team and external clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to drive the product forward and take ownership of the product
  • Team player willing to support wider team objectives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint
