Vanrath are recruiting for a Community Resilience Officer on behalf of a large public sector company in Craigavon on a temporary basis. The post holder will be required to support and participate in the Resilience Team's Emergency Management response which may involve working unsocial hours at very short notice. Temporary, initially to end of June with chance of extension Traveling throughout Northern Ireland £18.84ph About your next employer The post holder will be responsible for delivering Community Resilience activities in line with the overall objectives of the Regional Community Resilience Group. The objective will be empowering communities across specific areas in Northern Ireland to become more resilient in the face of flooding and other risks. They will be required to develop societal resilience in accordance with the National Consortium for Societal Resilience (NCSR) principles and will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work with all relevant stakeholders across community, voluntary and statutory sectors. What you'll do Develop and implement the Regional Community Resilience Group's Community Resilience Programme through identifying and assisting 'at risk communities' to develop resilience and recovery plans. Engage with "at risk communities" across Northern Ireland through collaboration with relevant agencies across the statutory, community and voluntary sectors. Liaise with relevant councils to identify existing groups and networks that can assist the overarching aim of the project. Understand and map the diversity and extent of local community resilience activities and needs to provide an accurate picture of existing activity and future needs during potential future shocks and stresses. Establish links with existing and potentially new community resilience groups. Facilitate communities to identify key risks for their communities. Strengthen the preparedness of community groups, with a focus on both urban and rural areas, to mitigate localised risks by co-designing, developing and implementing Community Resilience Plans. Offer skill-building workshops to residents over the course of the project enabling them to contribute actively to community resilience efforts. Establish a community resilience network with active participation from local organisations, fostering collaboration and resource-sharing. Produce management information reports, briefings and all papers relevant to the service areas as required. Prepare and present reports for relevant governance structures, including the Regional Community Resilience Group and other multi agency groups as required. Engage with the communities at risk during response and recovery to events to ensure there is clear communication links to and from responding orgainsations. Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post. About you A third level qualification (i.e. HNC/HND, Level 4, Degree) in line with the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in any discipline Applicants who do not possess a third level qualification must demonstrate four years' relevant experience as below.
