We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex additional learning needs in a secondary school setting.

You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Your Role
Support Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils with complex mental health, emotional, social, and additional learning needs
Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity of learning
Use positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm, focused, and productive classroom environment
Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions to support individual learning and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads to support student progress
Encourage confidence, resilience, and active participation in all learners
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication skills and confident classroom presence
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people
Experience in, or a genuine interest in, areas such as youth work, psychology, sport, or behaviour mentoring
A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt in a dynamic school environment
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
