Role: Compliance and Certification Engineer\nIndustry: Building materials\nLocation: Wolverhampton\nSalary: up to £60,000 P/A\nBenefits: Excellent pension, 4 x life assurance, 25 days holiday, enhanced parental leave, +more. \n \nAn opportunity for a Compliance and Certification Engineer has become available with a leading manufacturer of building material products, located in Wolverhampton.\n \nAs the Compliance and Certification Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet fire, smoke and acoustic performance requirements in accordance with British and European industry standards.\n \nYou will support the engineering design function through the review and interpretation of fire test evidence and by driving compliant design improvements. You will also be the technical liaison between internal teams and external test houses, ensuring robust communication, correct application and ongoing compliance.

The role plays a key part in maintaining certification, product integrity and continuous improvement.\n \nCompliance and Certification Engineer - Responsibilities: \n\nLead the interpretation and application of fire, smoke and acoustic performance requirements in accordance with British and European standards.\nDeliver fire engineering input, including fire strategy support and engineered fire-rated solutions at component, assembly and system level.\nReview, interpret and manage fire, smoke and acoustic test reports, classifications, assessments and certification evidence to ensure correct product application and compliance.\nProvide expert technical guidance to Engineering, Quality, Sales, Operations and Project teams on fire performance, regulatory compliance and limitations of use.\nSupport Sales and tendering activities by responding to technical queries and providing compliant, value-engineered fire-rated solutions. \nKey Skills & experience required: \n\nProven experience within a Compliance and Certification environment\nExperience within a fire testing environment or a manufacturer of building materials fire-rated products\nExposure to smoke control and acoustic performance testing.\nDegree in a relevant engineering discipline\nStrong working knowledge of British and European Standards such as BS 476, BS 717 and EN 1634\nBuilding Regulations knowledge such as PAS 9980, Approved Document B\nRelevant qualifications and certifications, e.g., FIRAS, BM TRADA, NVQ Level 2/3 in Passive Fire Protection. \nIf you have a background in Compliance and Certification for fire rated products, then please apply now with you latest CV to be considered for this opportunity
