They’re looking for a confident, hands on Compliance/Health and Safety Officer to take ownership of workplace safety, environmental responsibilities, and regulatory compliance across a busy site in Rochdale.
This isn’t a tick box H&S role – it’s about shaping culture, driving improvements, and helping the business stay one step ahead of regulations.
About the Role:
* Take the lead on all things Health & Safety – from creating policies to ensuring they’re followed on the ground
* Make sure accident reports, risk assessments, and training records are always up to date and audit-ready
* React quickly and thoroughly to incidents and near misses, seeing every corrective action through to completion
* Champion safety across departments, working closely with managers to make compliance second nature
* Oversee environmental responsibilities – from drafting eco policies to implementing waste management plans
* Get the team up to speed with engaging training sessions, especially during onboarding
* Prepare for external audits and customer assessments with confidence and precision
What You’ll Bring:
* A strong grounding in workplace Health & Safety, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification)
* Experience building or maintaining safety systems and procedures
* A sharp eye for detail and the confidence to challenge when needed
* The ability to turn policy into practice – and bring people along with you
Bonus points if you have:
* Membership of IOSH
* Experience working with ISO standards or supporting external audit processes
