Location: DoubleTree by Hilton, Stoke-on-Trent Department: Conference & Events Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent Reports To: Hotel Manager / General Manager About the Role Are you a passionate, driven, and detail-oriented events professional ready to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment? DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent is looking for a Conference & Events Managerto take the reins of our dynamic events departmentcovering weddings, conferences, corporate functions, and festive Christmas events. As the C&E Manager, you will oversee all aspects of event deliveryfrom planning and staffing to execution and guest satisfaction. Youll work closely with Sales, Kitchen, Front Office, and F&B teams to ensure each event runs smoothly, exceeds expectations, and aligns with Hiltons world-class standards. Key Responsibilities Customer Experience Deliver consistently outstanding service across all events Act on guest feedback, complaints, and service audits promptly Ensure all team members are service-focused and professional Operations & Event Delivery Manage the full operational lifecycle of weddings, conferences, banqueting events, and festive functions Oversee function bars and cellar operations for all events Ensure departmental procedures, policies, and brand standards are consistently applied Support in other F&B areas as needed during peak periods Financial & Business Management Drive profitability through effective planning, staffing, stock control, and upselling Manage payroll, costs, and inventory in line with business forecasts Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and performance reports Ensure accurate billing and reconciliation of all event-related charges Leadership & Team Development Lead, train, and develop the C&E team to deliver exceptional standards Conduct regular team briefings, 1:1s, appraisals, and training plans Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture Recruit and onboard new team members in line with Hilton policies Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Licensing, and Fire Safety laws Conduct risk assessments and maintain safe working environments Implement and act upon hygiene audits and quality checks What Were Looking For Experience managing large events , ideally in a hotel or hospitality venue Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities Knowledge of licensing laws, fire safety, and food hygiene regulations Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasons (especially Christmas) What We Offer Competitive salary Meals on duty Discounted stays across Hilton properties worldwide Career progression opportunities within the Hilton network Access to internal learning and development programs 28 days holiday About Us At DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent, were proud to host everything from elegant weddings and national conferences to magical Christmas events.
