OverviewWe are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Consultant Cardiologist with Specialist interest in Devices and Heart Failure to join the existing enthusiastic and progressive multidisciplinary team and work as a key member of the Cardiology team at Mid and South Essex Trusts. The job will be based at Southend Site.ResponsibilitiesProvide consultant level support to help the expanding device service.Contribute to the MDT process involving collaboration with Colleagues at the CTC.Meet increasing outpatient demands of the fastest-growing town in Essex, working with Cardiology colleagues to provide inpatient services initially on a consultant of the day rota.Undertake clinics and cath-lab sessions; there may be an opportunity for subspecialty interests to be accommodated.Contribute to the Consultant of the week model and the device on-call roster; support the Cardiology in-reach service.Support the teams across the District General sites within the MSE footprint, supporting Southend for device implantation (brady and complex) as well as helping to focus on the outpatient element for the service.Develop at least one additional area of expertise; ideally encourage candidates with an interest in device implantation to apply. Up to two PAs during the weekly schedule could be dedicated to the subspeciality area.Qualifications/RequirementsBroad general cardiology skills and a subspecialty interest, ideally devices and heart failure.
