Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist – Chichester – £45k Recruitment & Retention Package NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant | Part time – 8 PAs | Permanent | Chichester A senior forensic consultant opportunity providing clinical leadership within low secure inpatient services, with an enhanced £45,000 Recruitment & Retention Package and flexible part-time working. Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to join the Forensic Healthcare Service at The Chichester Centre. This role focuses on delivering expert assessment, treatment and leadership for male patients within a low secure ward, working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team in a trauma-informed environment. About the role You will hold responsibility for a defined inpatient caseload of approximately 12 male patients detained under the Mental Health Act, providing specialist psychiatric assessment, evidence-based treatment and senior clinical leadership. The post includes chairing ward rounds and CPA meetings, participating in risk clinics, undertaking forensic assessments through the single point of access and providing clinical supervision to medical colleagues and the wider MDT. The role combines direct clinical care with service development, governance and quality improvement responsibilities within a growing forensic service. Recruitment & Retention Package This post attracts a £45,000 Recruitment & Retention Package structured over three years: The payment is pro rata for part-time working. About you You will be a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist with Specialist Registration (or within six months), Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status or willingness to obtain. You will bring strong forensic clinical expertise, leadership capability and a collaborative, recovery-focused approach to secure mental health care.
