Overview NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. Role Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Oral Medicine based at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School, the largest provider of specialist oral healthcare in Scotland. The post holder will join one of the busiest Oral Medicine departments in the UK. Opportunities exist for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, audit and participation in research. The department has close links with other acute medical and surgical specialties in Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday. This is a permanent post based within Glasgow Dental Hospital and School. Responsibilities and opportunities The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of an Oral Medicine service within an NHS hospital setting and participate in teaching, audit and research activities as part of a busy department. The department maintains close links with other acute medical and surgical specialties. Requirements / Qualifications
Full GDC registration. On or eligible for inclusion on the GDC Specialist List for Oral Medicine within 6 months of the interview date. Experience of Oral Medicine service provision in an NHS hospital or, for applicants from overseas, the ability to demonstrate a full understanding of the provision of an Oral Medicine service within a UK context.
