This is primarily to support the stroke and neurology services in the trust. These are mainly centred in Winchester, where the hyper-acute stroke service is located.The role also involves a share of the general workload in the department, with general cross-sectional and ultrasound imaging, taking part in the acute rota and consultant-led on call at either Basingstoke or Winchester.Main duties of the jobThe post is primarily to support the neurological imaging at HHFT, in particular the highly regarded stroke service. Support for the ENT service would also be welcomed, particularly with head and neck ultrasound and FNAs.There will also be a need to support the general rota with both acute and outpatient reporting, including supporting the on call rota. The Breast ScreeningUnitislocatedatWinchester.TheBasingstokesitehousesa tertiarypseudomyxomaandperitoneal malignancy unit, tertiary liver surgery unit, and a tertiary haemophilia centre. The Basingstoke site is also a designated trauma unit within the Trauma Network. Nuclear Medicine is situated on the Basingstoke Site.TheAndoversite is being developed as a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). It has a newly developed CT and MRI unit as well as offering radiography,Dexa,andultrasound.SmallercommunityimagingfacilitiesalsoexistatAltonCommunity Hospital(radiographyand ultrasound).
