Consultant in Orthodontics

University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group

Northampton, England, United Kingdom

Permanent

Salary: £109,725 - £145,478

University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Orthodontics to join its growing specialist service in Northampton.

This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an ambitious and collaborative consultant to play a key role in shaping and developing a high-quality county-wide orthodontic service within a clinically led organisation that is committed to innovation, education and service improvement.

Based primarily at Northampton General Hospital, with some cross-site working where required, this post offers the chance to join a supportive consultant-led team delivering excellent care across a broad and rewarding case mix.

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive orthodontic service for the local population, working closely with consultant orthodontic and maxillofacial colleagues to support a modern, effective and expanding service. This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a consultant with a special interest in orthognathic treatment, with involvement in multidisciplinary and complex cases including orthognathic surgery and joint restorative planning.

The department benefits from modern refurbished clinical facilities and strong multidisciplinary working, supported by advanced imaging and digital technologies. The postholder will also contribute to teaching, training, audit, governance and service development, with opportunities to build academic and leadership interests through established educational and research links.

This is a full-time permanent post with flexible working options, an indicative 10 PA job plan, and no on-call commitment.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold Intercollegiate CCT in Orthodontics or equivalent, and who are on the GDC Specialist Register for Orthodontics, or are within six months of obtaining the relevant qualification at interview.

Northampton offers an excellent quality of life, with strong transport links to London, Oxford, Cambridge and Birmingham, alongside beautiful countryside and a growing, diverse community.

For consultants looking to join a forward-thinking NHS organisation and make a real impact within a developing specialist service, this is an outstanding opportunity.
