Job summary

One post with three service options to join the Integrated CAMH Eating Disorders Day Service. The core clinical role is a part‑time 6PA clinical post, with optional 1PA Liaison development and 1PA Clinical Academic roles to accompany it.

The clinical post is a new and exciting opportunity for a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders. You will work in the day‑patient programme, support paediatric refeeding at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, and lead the innovative development of eating‑disorder care for the Trust.

The liaison development role offers the chance to review current arrangements for young ED patients and design improved pathways at a strategic level.

The clinical academic role will support research, service evaluation, and the application of findings to teaching and clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide clinical leadership for CAMHS/paediatric day‑patient services.
  2. Act as ED liaison alongside Paediatrics for patients admitted to paediatric wards at ChelWest.
  3. Review patients in Tier 4 CYP/ED units to support step‑down to day care.
  4. Lead development and evaluation of treatment pathways with therapy leads.
  5. Deliver clinical assessments for new referrals (typically one–two per week).
  6. Provide psychiatric input to day‑patient care.
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders across NW London to ensure integrated care pathways.
  8. Cross‑cover and collaborate with CYP and Adult consultant colleagues.
  9. Maintain active membership of the VSEDS Senior Leadership Team and Care Quality Group.

Qualifications – Essential

  • Primary Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration with GMC Licence to Practise
  • Section 12 MHA Approved
  • Approved Clinician status
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register (or expected within six months of interview date)
  • CAMHS training

Qualifications – Desirable

  • MRCPsych
  • Additional post‑graduate management qualification

Experience, Skills and Abilities – Essential

  • Excellent communication and empathic skills
  • Clinical leadership/management experience
  • Track record of improving quality in a service

  • Experience of conducting job planning
  • Experience in resolving conflict and complex performance management issues
  • Peer‑reviewed published research
  • Experience with data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation
