OverviewA vacancy at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust is seeking to appoint a 6 PA Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist to join a fully supported inpatient team at Kingfisher, based at Kings Mill Hospital. The post holder will provide senior medical input to the team and participate in local leadership meetings and service development with local operational leads. This is a replacement inpatient post suitable for an Old Age Psychiatry colleague who will assume responsibility for diagnosis and treatment of patients admitted to Kingfisher ward (dementia inpatient). The successful candidate will offer outstanding clinical leadership and clinical care for patients admitted to the functional ward. Applications are welcome from experienced consultants and Higher Trainees finishing the final six months of training and preparing for CCT.ResponsibilitiesProvide medical leadership for the multi-disciplinary team on KingfisherProvide medical/psychiatric assessments to inform care planning and risk assessmentComplete administrative tasks related to clinical responsibilitiesMaintain good clinical records using the Trust’s electronic record systemMaintain a revalidation portfolio and participate in annual appraisalUndertake a job plan review with the Clinical Directors annuallyMaintain professional registration with the GMC and be approved as an Approved Clinician and Section 12(2) approved doctorAttend team and governance meetingsComply with the Trust’s agreed policies and proceduresParticipate in the OPCU out-of-hours on-call rotaProvide clinical supervision of junior medical staffRequirements / QualificationsCurrent medical registration with the GMCApproval as an Approved Clinician and Section 12(2) approved doctorClinical seniority in Old Age Psychiatry and ability to provide leadershipEligible for 6 programmed activity units in a consultant postParticipation in job planning and annual appraisalThis advert closes on Friday 3 Apr 2026. #J-18808-Ljbffr
