SUMMARY OF POST

  • This post will attract a salary of £110,681 - £145,517per annum. There is no on‑call commitment currently with this post. This is a full‑time position, however anyone interested in working part‑time / job share is also welcome to apply. Annual leave will be 32 days per annum initially rising to 34 days after 7 years’ seniority, plus 10 statutory and public holidays The posts also has an attractive study leave entitlement of up to 30 days paid leave with expenses in any period of three years.
  • A relocation package may also be available if appropriate.
  • The Southern Trust has established a dedicated revalidation support team which ensures all doctors have an annual appraisal with a trained appraiser and supports all doctors through the revalidation process. The Trust has also appointed corporate, Consultant Leads for appraisal and revalidation. The Trust supports the requirements for continuing professional development (CPD) as laid down by the GMC and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities. DUTIES OF THE POST

  • The post holder will join 5 other Consultant Rheumatologists, an Associate Specialist, 2 Specialty Doctors a Biologics Clinical Manager, Senior Pharmacist and 5 Rheumatology Nurse Specialists in the Trust all based in Craigavon Area Hospital. All staff perform off‑site clinics in South Tyrone Hospital, Banbridge Health and Care Centre, Armagh Community Hospital and Daisy Hill Hospital. With this post, the Rheumatology Service will expand input into Daisy Hill Hospital and the post-holder will perform an OP clinic there and manage inpatient referrals from other specialties at the Daisy Hill and Craigavon sites. The post holder will be expected to supervise junior medical staff in their duties and to be involved in the teaching and training of medical students and junior medical staff. To maintain professional standards and obligations as set out by the General Medical Council and comply in particular with the GMC’s guidance on Good Medical Practice as amended or substituted from time to time. Carry out any work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties set out in your job plan or rota including keeping of records and the provision of reports, the proper delegation of tasks and maintaining skills and knowledge. There will be consideration of time off in lieu, such as for weekend working.
