As a Consumer Direct Underwriter, you will be reviewing underwriting and awaiting decision queues to ensure that customer applications are processed in a timely fashion as accurately as possible to maximising the chance of approval. You will learn how to resolve errors, read credit reports and understand the likelihood that a customer can obtain credit and act accordingly.
You will also be proposing customer applications to our lending panel through a combination of API submissions and manually keying data into lender systems. It is important that this data is accurate and complete and you will be responsible for ensuring all the appropriate lenders receive the correct application.
Occasionally there are applications that need to move outside of the usual business practice and as such you will be responsible for ensuring this is only done with the relevant sign offs and you will be responsible for auditing these applications after the fact
There are four main focuses for this job role that the Consumer Direct Underwriter will be responsible for:
Processing customer data and applications quickly and effectively using our underwriting system.
Proposing customer data to finance lenders, ensuring the correct propping processes are always adhered to.
Auditing proposals and agreements that are proceeding to ensure the correct sales process was followed.
Ensuring our regulatory responsibilities are followed when processing customer data and applications.
Full Time: 40 Hours per week, one in two Saturdays and one in three Sundays.
Key Responsibilities:
Listening to calls to validate information.
Using multiple in-house systems to process applications.
Using multiple external lender systems.
Proposing applications to lenders.
Managing several email inboxes.
Managing a variety of work queues including the awaiting decision and underwriting queues.
Develop a good understanding of the business, its teams, different roles and the environment in which we work.
To conduct audits with certain lenders and proposals.
Provide feedback to colleagues as and when appropriate.
Review customer applications, check for potential risk and analyse credit profiles.

Able to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook to a good standard.
