Job Role You will be required to observe interaction between adults and children and produce a detailed written report, within 48 hours of the contact session. Contact sessions can take place in various settings such as Contact Centres, in foster carers homes or out within the community. An average contact session lasts 2 hours. You may be requested to give evidence in family court proceedings if required. Specific Requirements -You must be able to Immediately report any concerns of a child protection nature in accordance with policy and procedure. -To work as part of a team, carrying out duties as required by centre based or community-based contacts. -To supervise, observe and record contact sessions with the needs and safety of the child as a priority. -Taking appropriate action to protect the safety of children or parents and promote their welfare intervening where this is threatened and terminating contact when necessary. -Support children and young people to manage expectations of contact Experience Experience of working with children in need or at risk of harm is relevant and the capacity to work with parents who are subject to statutory intervention in their lives is essential. You must have report writing experience as well excellent observation skills. Education and Knowledge
