We are working with a leading London firm seeking a talented and ambitious Contentious Probate Lawyer (5+ PQE) to join their highly regarded Private Client department.

This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside the Head of Private Client , gaining hands-on experience with complex, high-value disputes. For the right individual, this role offers a clear and structured succession plan, with the potential to step into the Head of Contentious Probate role in the near future.

The Role:

• Handling a broad caseload of contentious probate matters, including disputes over wills, inheritance claims, challenges based on capacity or undue influence, executor/administrator disputes, and trust litigation.
• Working closely with the Head of Department on strategic planning and client development.
• Supporting the team’s growth and mentoring junior solicitors where appropriate.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with HNW/UHNW clients, trustees, and intermediaries.

• Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE in contentious probate.
  • Strong technical knowledge of private client dispute resolution, with experience acting on complex matters.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ambition and leadership potential – a desire to take on greater responsibility and ultimately lead the team.
