Job Description
An international law firm is looking for a Contracts Lawyer to join its Compliance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. The role can be based in any of the firm’s UK offices in London, Oxford, Cardiff, Manchester or Leeds, with hybrid working available.
This Contracts Lawyer (6mth FTC) position would suit a qualified lawyer with strong commercial contract experience, ideally gained within a law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Contracts Lawyer (6mth FTC) role:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, client terms, NDAs and consultancy agreements
- Advising internal stakeholders on contractual risk and liability exposure
- Supporting the negotiation of engagement terms with clients, including amendments to standard terms
- Providing pragmatic, risk-based advice to the business on contractual and regulatory matters
- Assisting with the development and improvement of standard templates and contractual processes
- Supporting the wider Risk & Compliance team on related regulatory and professional risk matters
- Escalating complex or high-risk issues to senior members of the Risk team where appropriate
Qualifications & Skills:
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent jurisdiction)
- Prior experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts gained within a law firm or professional services environment preferred
- Confident working with senior stakeholders across the business
- Experience of handling high volume day-to-day client engagement documentation and commercial contracts
