About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Contracts Manager that will own complex, high‑value projects. The role will focus on safety, sustainability and delivery excellence, building long‑term client relationships across the UK.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage the end‑to‑end delivery of multiple projects—from work‐winning through to completion—balancing commercial responsibility, operational leadership and customer focus. You’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards.
This role is office‑based from Leeds, Warrington or Derby, with time spent on site as project needs dictate.
Responsibilities
Manage delivery and performance of multiple projects, including full P&L responsibility
Lead safety with passion and credibility, driving our Zero Harm culture
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, managing change and expectations throughout delivery
Ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty procedures, policies and governance
Manage external consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners
Drive operational excellence through planning, risk management, project controls and Lean principles
Champion sustainability, including waste, energy and water efficiency
Use BIM, Lean Visual Management and digital tools to optimise delivery and safety
Provide clear, robust reporting on progress, risk and performance to senior stakeholders
Support repeat business and long‑term client partnerships through excellent delivery
Qualifications
Proven experience in Contracts or Project Management within the construction sector
Strong leadership capability with the confidence to influence, motivate and lead teams
Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills
Sound commercial and financial awareness
Experience (or strong understanding) of Lean construction principles
Knowledge of contract conditions and change control processes
A valid CSCS card
Relevant professional or technical qualifications (desirable)
