Job Description

Contracts Manager – Electrical (Brighton & Hove)\nSalary: £55,000 (non-negotiable)\nHours: 45 hours per week\nLocation: Brighton & Hove (office-based with local site coverage)\nBenefits: Company van (diesel or electric)\n\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to take responsibility for a key commercial contract based in the Brighton & Hove area. This is a hands-on role, managing day-to-day operations while leading engineers and apprentices to deliver reactive, maintenance, remedial and installation works to a high standard.\n\nThis position would suit a confident Contracts Manager with strong technical knowledge, excellent client-facing skills, and proven experience managing electrical projects within a commercial environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProject & Client Management\n\n * \n\n Full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a local commercial electrical contract, including reactive, maintenance, remedial and installation works\n\n * \n\n Act as the primary point of contact for clients, including commercial and local authority stakeholders\n\n * \n\n Manage projects typically ranging from £50k–£100k in value\n\n * \n\n Prepare quotations, financial budgets, work schedules and client reports\n\n * \n\n Attend client meetings and maintain accurate records using an internal works management system\n\n * \n\n Proactively identify and support new business opportunities\n\nLine Management & Supervision\n\n * \n\n Direct line management of engineers, lead engineers and site supervisors\n\n * \n\n Provide mentoring, performance management and ongoing support to the team\n\n * \n\n Supervise subcontractors and deliver toolbox talks and team meetings as required\n\n * \n\n Complete annual staff appraisals and implement follow-up actions\n\nCompliance & Technical\n\n * \n\n Ensure all works comply with current electrical regulations and legal requirements\n\n * \n\n Provide technical support to engineers, clients and internal teams\n\n * \n\n Work towards or operate as NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, completing associated duties\n\n * \n\n Interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation throughout project delivery\n\nHealth, Safety, Quality & Environmental\n\n * \n\n Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, quality and environmental procedures\n\n * \n\n Develop and implement RAMS\n\n * \n\n Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks\n\n * \n\n Complete non-conformance investigations and support H&S/CPD training material development\n\nFinancial Management\n\n * \n\n Order materials and services for assigned works\n\n * \n\n Monitor costs, approve expenditure and manage budgets in line with internal processes\n\n * \n\n Produce job costings, WIP figures and financial reports\n\n * \n\n Submit accurate applications and invoices in line with client requirements\n\nAbout You\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installations\n\n * \n\n Confident managing teams, clients and multiple workstreams\n\n * \n\n Proactive, organised and hands-on when required\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence
