Job Description
Freelance Contracts Manager – Distribution Centre Refurbishment & Fit-Out\n\nProjects: North West / East\nStart Date: End of Jan\n\nDay Rate: Negotiable / Hotel / Fuel allowance\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Freelance Contracts Manager to join our client who are main contractor that turnover circa £80m. They have been allocated a roll out in the region of £35m’s worth of Small / Medium Distribution centre refurbishments for their client, a world leading brand. The scope of works vary across all schemes and are from £1.2m to £2.4m a piece.\n\nProject durations are 22 – 26 weeks.\n\nYou will be overseeing a handful of projects at any one time, regular site visits are expected and office presence at times as well as working from home.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Making sure all sites are run smoothly\n\n * Oversee several projects at any one time\n\n * Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to ensure smooth delivery.\n\n * Monitor progress against programme milestones and report regularly to the project team.\n\n * Oversee quality control and resolve any issues that arise during construction and fit- out.\n\nRequirements\n\n * Proven track record as a Site based lead Manager on refurbishment and fit-out projects.\n\n * Experience in managing distribution centres, warehouses, or similar industrial facilities would be ideal but essential.\n\n * Strong knowledge of construction processes, health & safety, and compliance standards.\n\n * Excellent communication and leadership skills.\n\n * Ability to work independently and drive the project to completion.\n\n * Freelance/contract availability for the full 24-week duration.\n\nCertificates required\n\n * CSCS Card (Professional or managers)\n\n * SMSTS\n\n * 3 day first Aid\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * Competitive freelance day rate and a run of work for the 2026\n\n * Opportunity to lead a significant refurbishment project from start to finish.\n\nCollaborative working environment with a supportive project team
