1st Step Solutions are proud to be supporting one of our longstanding clients with an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager within the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) industry.\n\nOur client specialises in large scale residential, student accommodation and hotel projects.\n \nOverview:\nWe are currently seeking a highly experienced Contracts Manager to oversee and manage multiple Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects from tender through to final account. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n* Oversee contractual aspects of M&E projects, ensuring full compliance with contract terms and conditions.\n* Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts.\n* Manage multiple M&E projects simultaneously.\n* Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.\n* Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.\n* Manage project budgets, variations, valuations, and claims.\n* Prepare and review project cash flows, cost-to-complete forecasts, and final accounts.\n* Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.\n* Attend and lead progress meetings, resolving any commercial or contractual issues.\n* Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations and quality management systems.\n* Work with the QA team to ensure project documentation and installations meet all regulatory standards.\n\nKey Skills & Experience:\n* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Contracts Manager or similar role within the M&E industry.\n* Proven experience working on large scale residential, student accommodation or hotel projects. \n* Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC).\n* Ability to manage multiple projects \n* Proficient in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and commercial reporting software.\n\nQualifications:\n* Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent).\n* SMSTS, CSCS Card, and other relevant industry certifications are advantageous\n\nBenefits\n* Competitive salary\n* Company car / car allowance / fuel card\n* 25 days holiday (increasing up to 30 days with service) plus bank holidays\n* Private healthcare scheme and life insurance\n* Pension scheme\n* Flexible holiday scheme\n* An excellent working environment, with genuine opportunities for career progression, technical development, and personal growth
