Job Description

Controls / Automation Engineer

Well-Established Manufacturer | Secure, Growing Business | Outstanding Team Culture

Are you a hands-on Controls / Automation Engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving systems and making a real impact? Or perhaps you’re an Electrical Engineer ready to take the next step into a more controls-focused role?

This is an opportunity to join a highly respected manufacturer where the team and culture genuinely set them apart. People stay here, and for good reason. Retention across site is exceptional because they invest in their people, listen to ideas, and create an environment where engineers are trusted and valued.

The Role

You’ll play a key part in maintaining, improving and developing control systems across a busy manufacturing site. This isn’t a “keep the lights on” position, you’ll be encouraged to challenge the status quo and bring forward innovative ideas that improve performance, reliability and efficiency.

You don’t need to be a programmer from scratch, but you must be confident working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, including:

  • PLC interrogation and diagnostics
  • Fault finding and system troubleshooting
  • Software modifications and rewriting programmes
  • Supporting upgrades and improvements

You’ll be empowered to take ownership, drive improvements and see your ideas implemented.

What They’re Looking For

  • A can-do attitude and proactive mindset
  • A self-starter who takes initiative
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs
  • Electrical background with controls experience

This role would suit:

  • An Electrical Engineer ready to step up into a more controls-led position
  • An experienced Controls Engineer looking to broaden their skill set and develop further

Why Join?

✔ Established, stable and forward-thinking manufacturer

✔ Supportive, down-to-earth engineering team

✔ Culture built on trust, collaboration and respect

✔ Real autonomy and ownership of projects

✔ Long-term career progression opportunities

✔ A business that genuinely knows how to keep its people happy

If you’re looking for a role where your ideas matter, your development is supported, and you’re part of a team that enjoys working together, this could be the move you’ve been waiting for.
