Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Conveyancing Assistant/ Paralegal to provide high-level administrative and legal support within our busy Property Department. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in residential conveyancing, excellent organisational skills, and the confidence to work closely with a Partner on time-sensitive matters.

This role requires a proactive and detail-focused professional who can manage a varied workload, maintain exceptional client care standards, and help ensure the seamless running of the Partner’s caseload.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Legal Support

· Provide administrative support to the Partner, including preparing quotes, liaising with the secretarial team on ongoing matters, and preparing and reviewing completion statements for Partner approval.

· Oversee the opening, managing and closing of files in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.

Conveyancing Process Management

· Assist with residential conveyancing transactions, including sales, purchases, and re-mortgages.

· Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors, Local Authorities, management companies, other solicitors and third parties.

· Support the Partner with due diligence processes.

· Ensure all key deadlines are monitored and met throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Compliance & File Management

· Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with Lexcel, SRA and AML regulations, and update case management systems.

· Handle financial administration including billing, requisitioning funds, processing payments, and preparing completion accounts.

· Follow all internal procedures to ensure high levels of data protection and confidentiality.


Skills & Experience Required

Essential

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a conveyancing secretary or assistant role, ideally at senior level.

· Strong working knowledge of residential conveyancing processes.

· Excellent command of written and spoken English.

· Strong IT skills including case management systems, Microsoft Office and online portals.

· Ability to work proactively, manage conflicting priorities and support a Partner with a demanding caseload.

· High standard of client care and professional communication.
